On The Town in London

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Aside from the obvious sightseeing hot spots like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and The Parliament Building, London has so much more to offer. If your into theatre, you can see Broadways hottest shows as well as up and coming hit plays and Off-Broadway productions. Discounted tickets can be found online as well as out discount huts around the city. A great bargain is to pair up a show with dinner on the town. Many dinner-theatre packages are available at great prices for a fun filled evening out. For a more unique way to see the city, a Thames river cruise is one of the best and most interesting ways. Tickets for a day cruise are reasonably priced and can be found either online or all over the city. The day pass is also like a hopper pass so one can get on and off at various ports all over the city throughout the day. Another unique opportunity if your a tennis fan is a behind the scenes tour of the famous All England Lawn and Tennis Club, home to the Championships at Wimbledon. For a more adventurous vacationer, try the new craze of Sphering. Imagine a giant inflatable hampster ball with two people harnessed inside, rolling down a hill up to 40 mph. At around 50 euros for two people this would for sure be an unforgettable experience. As far as dining goes, London is filled with new menus, new fusion cuisines, and new chefs who try to make names for themselves in a city where the café culture embraces cuisines from more than 70 countries in some 6,000 restaurants and 5,000 pubs and bars. Another great way to see the city is from Londons Eye, the worlds largest Ferris wheel. The opportunities are limitless for fun and unique attractions in London.
