Rome's Hip Fashion

Sunday, June 14, 2009

When one thinks of Italy, high end fashion is usually the first thing that comes to mind. Producing some of the worlds finest goods from clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories, Italy constantly has been a mecca for top designers. While Milan has predominately been viewed as the pinnacle of Italian fashion, however, as of late many are changing their minds. Rome is standing out in the high-end fashion scene with its high class tailoring and endless boutiques. The greatest thing about Romes fashion scene is the variety.

VIA CONDOTTI:
At the foot of the famous Spanish Steps lies this top designer lined street. With Gucci, Valentino and Armani as typical "brand names" shopping on Via Condotti may not always be economical, but hey, its fun to look.

VIA DEL CORSO:
Located at the foot of Via Condotti, Via del Corso is a street which stretches for nearly a mile and is lined with high-end stores that most of us are more accustomed to. This includes international brands but also Italian stores such as Messagerie Musicali, the city’s flagship music store.

CENTRO COMMERCIALE LA ROMANINA, VIA ENRICO FERRI:
Of all Rome's shopping centers, Centro Commerciale La Romanina is the largest. Choose from over 140 shops, restaurants and more. Buy everything from clothes to shoes to groceries.

MERCATO PORTA PORTESE, PIAZZA DI PORTA PORTESE:
Notably Rome's best known flea market, if you are in the mood for some bargain hunting this is where you need to go. You can find everything from new clothes to second
hand clothes to antiques to oriental handicrafts.
